On 18 December 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid in collaboration with the Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Cordoba Halal Institute (Spain), organized the “Exploring Halal Tourism” Seminar at Al Meroz Hotel Bangkok. There were around 60 representatives of public, private and academic institutions attending the Seminar.

At the Seminar, speakers from Cordoba Halal Institute (Spain), Mr. Tomas Guerrero and Ms. Barbara Ruiz, shared with the audience the potential of the Halal tourism market and key elements for the successful development of Halal tourism, based on the experience of Spain in promoting this niche market. The lessons learned could benefit the Thai tourism industry.

Exploring Halal Tourism Seminar was organized in line with the Thai government’s policy to promote Thailand as one of the top five exporters of Halal products and services by the year 2020.
