Thai delegations visited Spain

During the end of November and early December 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid received delegations of Thai dignitaries who visited Spain for Meetings with their Spanish counterparts to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The first visit was that of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly (NLA) who held a Meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain on 28 December 2018. At the meeting, both sides shared information on their agricultural sector. 
A delegation of the Office of the Traffic and Transport Policy and Planning met with Coslada Dry Port and TMZ of Zaragoza Dry Port on 3 and 5 December 2018, respectively. The purpose of the visit was to learn from the Spanish experience in developing its dry ports which could be a model for Thailand’s dry port infrastructure development projects. 
In addition, the Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Labour of Thailand’s NLA  met with the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid on 4 December 2018 and, with the Committee on Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Chamber of  Deputies of Spain on 5 December 2018. At the Meetings, both sides discussed on the strengthening of Thailand-Spain trade and investment ties.
Lastly, on 12 December 2018, the Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand’s NLA  met with Barcelona City Council to learn from Barcelona its best practices in urban planning. On 14 December 2018, the delegation met with Siemen Gamesa, a leading Spanish investor in Thailand, to discuss on the future of renewable energy and the company’s investment in Thailand.
