On 26 October 2017, the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM), in collaboration with Complutense University of Madrid in organized ASEAN Talk on"ASEAN in the Changing International Landscape and the Way Forward¨ with an aim to raise awareness on ASEAN on  the occasion of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN with H.E. Mr. Enrique Manalo, Undersecretary for Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and H.E. Dr. Hassan Wirajuda, Former Foreign Minister of Indonesia as speakers.

On this occasion, there were ASEAN exhibition and cultural performances.  The Royal Thai Embassy in  Madrid presented the exhibition on"Thailand's Path toward Sustainable Development" in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and a medley of the musical compositions of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej performed with Khim, Thai musical instrument.  ASEAN Cocktail reception was also served. Thai Chicken Green Curry Fried Rice and Thai Grilled Chicken were the dishes served by the Royal Thai Embassy. There were about  200  participants from students, academics, diplomatic corps as well as public and private sectors in Madrid.
