On 4 July 2017, the ASEAN Ambassadors to Spain paid courtesy call on Mr. Pedro Santisteve, Mayor of Zaragoza at  Town Hall on the occasion that the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM), in collaboration withChamber of Commerce of Zaragoza, organized an ASEAN Business Forum on "Trade and Investment Opportunities in ASEAN" with an aim to raise awareness on ASEAN on the occasion of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and the 40th anniversary of the ASEAN-EU relations. There were about  50  participants from public and private sectors in Zaragoza.

The ASEAN Ambassadors briefed the meeting on the investment promotion policies of each countries and business opportunity for Spanish business sector to invest more in the region. In this regard, H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain thanked the proactive initiative of the Chamber of Zaragoza in organizing a trade mission to Thailand last year and encouraged that more Zaragoza private sectors to explore the vast opportunities in Thailand.  H.E. the Ambassador delivered the informationfocusing on Thailand's key policies and projects which include Thailand 4.0, digital economy, the development on Eastern Economic Corridor, along with BOI's incentives for foreign investment. Apart from that, she invited the Spanish companies to also consider using Thailand's linkage location in setting up International Headquarter or International Trading Center in Thailand.  The one-on-one meeting after the Forum was also drew much interest  for Spanish business sector.
