On 28 June 2017, the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) in collaboration with CEOE (Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain) and Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of Spain organized an ASEAN Business Forum on "Trade and Investment Opportunities in ASEAN" with an aim to raise awareness on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and the 40th anniversary of the ASEAN-EU relations. There were about 100 participants from public and private sectors of Spain.

The ASEAN Ambassadors briefed the meeting on the investment promotion policies of each countries and business opportunity for Spanish business sector to invest more in the region.  Some of the CEOs of Spanish companies also shared their experience in doing business in ASEAN during which, INDRA's Operations Director for Asia Pacific, Mr. Jorge Garcia shared his company experience in doing business in Thailand.  

On this Occasion H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain gave a presentation on"Thailand's economic potential", focusing on Thailand's key policies and projects which include Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor, Thailand 4.0, digital economy,  BOI's incentives for foreign investment as well as inviting Spanish companies to set up international headquarters in Thailand. 

Apart from the business forum and the one-on-one meeting which got much interest  for Spanish business sector,  ASEAN Food Cocktail reception was also served. The famous "Pad Thai" and "green curry fried rice" were the dishes served by Royal Thai Embassy.
