Hola! Magazine, which belongs to the same publishers as Hello! Magazine, and one of the most popular magazines in the world, has published an article called “Garden of Flavours” (Jardin de Sabores) in its special edition Hola! Cocina for December 2011. The article in page 56-62 features an interview with His Excellency Mr. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, concerning the background of Thai arts and culture, Thai cuisine and the Thai way of life, as well as the role play by the Thai Royal Palace in promoting the development of Thai cuisine. For the article, the Ambassadors’ chefs prepared four Thai dishes which were photographed: Tom Yam Kung Soup, Nam Prik Ong, Reum and Tua Pab Sai Tua, and set a dining table decorated with carved vegetables as well as set a Thai style traditional ‘Tang” seat for tea and snacks.

After the magazine Hola! Cocina went on sales in December; a brief survey showed that the said magazine received a warm and enthusiastic response from its readers. This good response could be owing to the worldwide popularity of Hola! Magazine, and that this special edition features new food recipes which are of interest to the Spanish hotel and restaurant businesses, as well as any Spanish reader who likes cooking.

Therefore, this Hola! Magazine’s special coverage for Thai arts, culture and cuisine provides a good opportunity to promote Thai cuisine in Spain, Latin America and the rest of the world, which will in turn generate support for Thai food industry, Thai food products and Thai restaurants in the world. The promotion of Thai cuisine forms part of the Royal Thai Government’s policy in promoting Thailand as “Kitchen of the World”, and corresponds Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid’s own initiative in the promotion of Thai arts, culture and cuisine.
