Royal Thai Embassy Celebrates the 84th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand

                        On 2 December 2011, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized the Thai National Day Reception to celebrate the 84th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid, Spain. The invited guests include diplomatic corps, heads of international organizations, representatives of Spanish government agencies, businessmen, as well as Thai community in Spain. The Embassy in collaboration with a well-known Thai restaurant in Madrid has provided Thai food and dessert at the Reception. The Embassy also arranged for a violin recital of songs composed by His Majesty the King of Thailand to be performed during the event.

                        H.E. Mr. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain gave a remark on this auspicious occasion emphasizing that the Celebration of 84th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand is very important to Thai people, as Thai communities around the world will come together to pay their love and respect to His Majesty the King who they held in the highest esteem as “the Father of the Nation” due to his dedication to work towards the improvement of the livelihood of Thai people, which results in more than 3,000 Royal projects. The Ambassador also highlighted the close and cordial relationship between Thailand and Spain and the flooding situation in Thailand can be controlled and return to normalcy. Visitors can enjoy visiting Thailand. The Ambassador then proposed a toast to H.M. the King. Among the Thai community, the Ambassador invited the Thai community to celebrate this event by singing the Royal Anthem and “Sadudee Maharaja” to pay homage and their deepest respect to H.M. the King.

                        In this auspicious occasion, the Ambassador also presided over the Ceremony to confer the Royal Decoration of the Gold Medal of Direkgunabhorn to Mr. Narong Wongsunthorn or “Master Lek”, a Muay Thai instructor who is recognized for his dedication  to promote Thai arts and culture and to teach Muay Thai in Spain, as well as his continued participation in charity events. The ceremony was witnessed by the Thai community in Spain, who congratulated Mr. Wongsunthorn.  Mr. Wongsunthorn expressed his deepest gratitude towards His Majesty the King of Thailand for bestowing upon him this prestigious Royal Decoration.
