On 8 August 2019, Team Thailand in Madrid participated in the ASEAN Day Ceremony, hosted by the Embassy of Indonesia to commemorate the 52nd Anniversary of the foundation of ASEAN. At the ceremony, representatives of Spanish public and private entities, diplomatic corps and ASEAN community in Spain were present.

In his remarks, Ambassador of Indonesia, Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Madrid, stressed on the development of ASEAN since its establishment, its contribution to the regional stability, its priorities which include the conclusion of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific, envisioning a prosperous, peaceful and inclusive ASEAN and beyond.
