On 5-6 August 2019, a delegation of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid visited the Port of Huelva in the south of Spain. In 2018, the Port of Huelva, halal-certified by Halal Food and Quality, a Halal certify body in Spanish city of Valencia, was the 6th most important port of the European country. Thanks to increasing business activities at the Port, its Authority has decided to improve the Port’s facilities and expand its terminal to serve with the rising demand of its customers.

During the visit to the Port, Ms. Kongsri met with Mr. Jose Ignacio Alvarez-Ossorio, General Manager of the Port Authority of Huelva and Mr. Francisco Jimenez, Operation Manager of Yilport Holding Huelva, a container terminal and operator in the Port of Huelva to discuss on the promotion of economic relations between Thailand and Spain. Representatives of the Port wish to see more Thai products entering Spain through the Port of Huelva and encourage Thai private sector to seek business opportunities at the Port, situated in the Spanish region of Andalucia.
