On 23-26 September 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized a Thai Food Cooking Demonstration Event to promote the popularity of Thai food in Spain and Andorra. This initiative is in line with the Government´s policy to promote and enhance Thai food as a ´soft power´ through its taste, ingredients, and cooking so that it is widespread in Spain and Andorra. The Embassy invited Mr. Kamol Chobdee-Ngam (Chef Gigg), the Winner of Iron Chef 2015 and owner of Lerdtip Restaurant, to demonstrate live Thai cooking demonstration by using local ingredients in 3 dishes - Tom Yum Goong with red prawns, Pad Thai with red prawns and Massaman Curry with rabbit/chicken.

The Embassy organized the event on 23 September 2024 at Kitchen Club, Madrid, whereby H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, presided over the opening of the event which was attended by the diplomatic corps as well as the Spanish public and private sectors, altogether more than 50 persons.
Then, on 26 September 2024, the Embassy traveled to organize the event at Siam Shiki Restaurant in Andorra la Vella, Andorra, whereby the Ambassador presided to opening the event and received invited guests from the Andorran public and private sectors who were more than 30 people in total.

The popularity of Thai food in Spain continues to grow. Currently, there are more than 120 Thai restaurants in Spain, among them 13 restaurants have received 'Thai Select' certificates. Although there is one Thai restaurant in Andorra, Andorrans are more than aware of Thailand as a touristic destination and are fond of international cuisine, including Thai food.
