Building on the Business Seminar to Promote Trade and Investment organized to promote Spanish trade and investment in Thailand in 2025 — which focused on presenting the EEC Special Economic Zone and the Land Bridge project — the Embassy organized another business seminar in 2026.
This edition covered Thailand's economic overview, creative industries, Thai-Spanish trade, investment incentives in target industries, and the development of Thailand Digital Valley. Three distinguished speakers were invited: (1) Ms. Kasama Kongsamak, Acting Executive Vice-President of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa); (2) Ms. Nuntanart Kritsanajinda, Director of the Board of Investment Office in Paris; and (3) Ms. Patcharamon Trakultivakorn, Director of the Department of International Trade Promotion Office in Madrid.

The Embassy held the seminar in two major cities:

🏙️ Madrid (27 May 2026) — Co-organized with the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), during which Mr. Juan Miguel Albarracin Durán, Honorary Trade Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand was introduced.

🌇 Barcelona (28 May 2026) — Co-organized with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce (Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona) and the Business Confederation of Catalonia (Foment del Treball). Mr. Manuel Matachana, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Barcelona joined in to share his experience and insights on conducting trade and investment with Thailand.

The seminars were very well received. Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. and all three speakers conveyed a clear message that, amid geopolitical volatility, Thailand offers stability; policy continuity, especially in restructuring of its economy and advancing toward sustainability; and stands ready as a reliable trade partner and investment destination that connects Spain with the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific markets.

On the same occasion, the Chargé d'Affaires led the delegation of speakers in meetings with four leading organizations: (1) AMETIC, which promotes digital adoption in Spain's private sector; (2) Acció, which supports the development and internationalisation of catalan business; (3) Foment del Treball, which advocates for business interests in Catalonia; and (4) Barcelona Activa, which focuses on sustainable urban development through digital technology — all aimed at exchanging knowledge and fostering Thai-Spanish cooperation in sectors of mutual potential and shared interest for the future.
