On 24 April 2015, the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) in collaboration with BBVA Bank of Spain organized an Inaugural Ceremony of ACM and Business Forum on “Business Opportunities in ASEAN” at BBVA Bank, Madrid. Around 150 representatives from public and leading private sectors of Spain participated in this event.  In this occasion, H.E. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin gave a presentation on Thailand’s role in the ASEAN Economic Community, focusing on the policies of the Thai government to promote connectivity in ASEAN and consolidate Thailand’s strategic position as a hub of economic connectivity in mainland SEA. These policies will be achieved through the implemenatation of the transportation development strategies (2015-2022), Seven Year Investment Strategy 2015-2021, the establishment of  Special Economic Zones along its border with Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia and development of Dawei Special Economic Zone in Myanmar.
