Alliance 4 Universities continues to fund academic mobility with Thai universities

Alianza 4 Universidades (A4U) has secured Erasmus+ funding for the exchange of 3 staff and doctoral students between universities-members of A4U in 2023-2024 academic year:

● Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
● Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
● Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
● Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona

and 4 Thai partner universities:
● Chulalongkorn University
● Mahidol University
● Thammasat University
● Khon Kaen University.

PhD students, as well as teaching and administrative staff from all subject areas from Thai partner universities and A4U universities can apply. Erasmus+ provides a fixed allowance for travel and living expenses from 2 to 5 months for students, and for 7 days for staff.

It should be noted that candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds are welcome to apply. One top-up grant for a participant with special needs or disabilities is available. During their stay, doctoral students should engage in research activities that will count towards their progress in the doctoral thesis. Staff should deliver 8 hours of teaching or receive training during their stay.

The stay abroad can help students improve their language and intercultural skills, gain valuable international experience and establish research links to jumpstart their career. Staff also benefit from exchange as they share and learn from best practice and have a chance to experience a different educational system.

Through Erasmus+ programme, participating universities have opportunities to forge cooperation in teaching and research, attract talent and increase the number of international students and staff, which in turn contribute to their diversity and internationalisation.

1. About Alianza 4 Universidades:
Alianza 4 Universities (A4U) is a strategic association of four Spanish public universities: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. A4U has been securing funding for Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme since 2015.
