On 6 June 2026, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, together with members of the diplomatic corps in Spain, representatives from the Spanish political sector and the Spanish civil society, attended the welcoming ceremony for the visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to the Kingdom of Spain from 6 to 12 June 2026, at the invitation of His Majesty King Felipe VI, at the Palacio Real.

 

His Majesty King Felipe VI and Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain graciously welcomed His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on this historic visit to Spain with full honours. The ceremony included a military parade, an inspection of the guard of honour, and the performance of the national anthems. The reception of His Holiness the Pope marked an important occasion that underscored the deep historical relations between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Spain.
