On 12-13 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, along with his spouse, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of the Defence and Naval Attache, traveled on an official trip to participate in Buddhist ceremonies on the occasion of Asalha Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent Day at "Wat Paññagiri" temple, located in the city of Aigufreda, Barcelona Province. Ven. Ajahn Nyanadassano, Chief of the Sangha, and Mr. Juan Serrano, President of the Bosque Theravada and Wat Paññagiri Association, welcomed the delegation. Main activities included making merit, offering alms to monks, and holding a Dhamma talk, with more than 60 Thai and Spanish citizens joining the event.
During the official trip, the Royal Thai Embassy also took the opportunity to organize volunteer activities to perform community services in honor of His Majesty the King, on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2025. These volunteer activities included cleaning the temple and planting trees and flowers, with the objective to maintain the temple as a religious and spiritual place of worship for Buddhists. In addition, the Embassy also presented and donated financial support to the Bosque Theravada and Wat Paññagiri Association, as merit donation and to support the association’s activities.
