On 27 August 2023, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Minister of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, as representative of the Ambassador, along with Mr. Worawut Chawengkiat, Counsellor, and Mr. Pakorn Kumpornlua, First Secretary, attended the closing event of the World Amateur Golfers Championship 2023 (WAGC) – Spain National Final, at Mijas Golf International SAU, Mijas, Malaga. The top five golfers representing Spain will participate in the WAGC Final with golfers from over 40 countries in Phuket, Thailand, in November 2023. On this occasion, the Embassy also presented commemorative T-shirts sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to golfers who won the tournament, as well as giving pants with elephant pattern especially ordered from Thailand to all participating players.
