On 18 October 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized a merit-making ceremony to offer food to Phra Rajabuddhivaraguṇa (Ajahn Amro), the abbot of Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, England, followed by a dharma discussion. The event was attended by H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha EKAROHIT, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, a head of Team Thailand agency, officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy with spouses, as well as the Thai community in Spain, a total of 30 people.

On this occasion, the Ambassador invited the participants in the ceremony to transfer the merit to the deceased from the incident at the Child Care Center in Nong Bua Lamphu Province on 6 October 2022, as well as praying to send encouragement to those affected. In addition, the participants also had the opportunity to listen to and discuss dharma topics of their interest such as spiritual training in response to events that cause sadness or anger, and guidelines to accomplishment based on the principle of Iddhipada.

Phra Rajabuddhivaraguṇa is a British monk and is a disciple of Phra Ajahn Chah Subhaddo. The abbot is on a visit to Spain to join activities as invited by Thai Buddhists in Spain, as well as Spanish interested in studying Buddhism.
