On 13 April 2026, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, attended the 39th Salon Gourmets food and beverage exhibition. At the exhibition, the Office of Commercial Affairs in Madrid organized a Thai pavilion to showcase products awarded the Prime Minister’s Export Award and bearing the Thailand Trust Mark.

During the event, the Royal Thai Embassy invited Mr. Kamol Chobdee-ngam (Chef Gigg), winner of the Iron Chef 2015 competition and owner of Lerdtip and Phed Mark Restaurant, to conduct a live cooking demonstration of Thai cuisine, featuring stir-fried basil beef with fried egg over rice (Pad Krapao Nuea Kai Dao). The dish attracted great interest from attendees, many of whom sampled the dish.
 
This cooking demonstration event at Salon Gourmets marks the first activity under the “Thai Gastronomy Week” project, aimed at promoting the popularity of Thai cuisine in Spain and Andorra.
