On 22 January 2025, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, delivered the opening remarks at the reception to mark the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day 2026, held at Palacio de los Duques de Santoña in Madrid. She led the attendees in a moment of silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and the victims of the recent railway accidents in Spain. In her remarks, she highlighted the role of the Royal Thai Armed Forces in national defense and humanitarian operations, the overall Thailand–Spain relationship with an emphasis on security cooperation, and the importance of advancing cooperation between Thailand and Spain, as well as within the ASEAN–EU framework, on shared priorities such as cybersecurity, maritime cooperation, and combating terrorism and human trafficking.

 
On this occasion, Captain Yuthanavi Mungthanya, Naval Attaché and Acting Defense Attaché at the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, delivered a speech on Thailand–Spain military relations and the role of the Royal Thai Armed Forces in promoting security and development. The event was attended by senior representatives of the Spanish Armed Forces and Defense Attachés from friendly countries, together with their spouses.
