On 1 April 2024, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, welcomed Assistant Professor, Dr. Krissada Paiwattananupant, from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. With funding support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid and Mahidol University, under the Project on Strengthening Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) cooperation between Thailand-Spain initiated by the Royal Thai Embassy, he has traveled to participate in a training course on minimal invasive surgery and gynecologic oncology as well as robotic surgery at IMED Hospital in Valencia for a period of 3 months between 1 April - 30 June 2024.
 
And between 2-3 April 2024, the Ambassador assigned Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Minister, and Mr. Pakorn Kumpornlua, First Secretary, to travel to Valencia in order to establish initial contact and closer relationships with executives of IMED Hospital consisting of Mr. Rafael Gimenez Perez, Director of Medical Cooperation, Dr. Lucas Minig, Head of Gynecology and Oncology Department, as well as his staffs, who welcomed and provided information of the operations of IMED Hospital to the Thai delegation.
 
Assistant Professor Dr. Krissada is the first Thai to be accepted for training at IMED Hospital, which is specialized and famous for gynecology, endoscopy and robotic surgery. This particular expertise of Spain will be beneficial in the development and enhancement of the treatment quality of Thai patients, and also aligns with the policy of strengthening Thailand as the advanced medical hub in the ASEAN region.
