The Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid facilitated the visit of H.E. Dr. Bowornsak Uwanno, Deputy Prime Minister, and his delegation from the Ministry of Justice and the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) during their participation in the OECD Global Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice, held from 10–14 November 2025 in Madrid, Spain.
Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak delivered Thailand’s statement as the first speaker in the High-Level Justice Leaders’ Dialogue (Roundtable I) under the theme “Justice Systems at a Crossroads: Challenges and Opportunities in a Changing World.” He emphasized advancing the rule of law through the development of the Rule of Law Policy Framework for Thailand, in cooperation with both domestic and international partners such as the OECD and the World Justice Project (WJP). He also noted the designation of Thailand’s additional Focal Points—namely the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission, TIJ, and King Prajadhipok’s Institute—to work with OECD, particularly with the Public Governance Directorate.
During the meeting period, the Deputy Prime Minister also held bilateral discussions with representatives from Latvia, Australia, Croatia, the OECD, and the WJP to exchange views and experiences relevant to Thailand’s ongoing process toward OECD membership.
