On 23 January 2026, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d'affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, attended a New Year's reception hosted by Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia for the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain and representatives with jurisdiction over Spain, at the Royal Palace (Palacio Real). This royal reception is a significant annual tradition in Spanish foreign affairs. Approximately 150 people, including diplomats residing in Spain and those with jurisdiction over Spain, along with their spouses, attended, representing 126 embassies and 42 international organizations. The entire ceremony lasted approximately 2.5 hours.
