On 25 August 2021, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Chargé d´affaires, a.i., Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, participated in the monthly meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM), chaired by H.E. Mr. Philippe J. Lhuillier, Ambassador of the Philippines, in capacity of the current ACM´s Chair.
At the meeting, the member countries, composing of the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Viet Nam, discussed on the work plan of the Committee towards the end of 2021 which includes the organization of the symposium “Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP): Opportunities for Spain” on 28 September 2021 and ASEAN Corner project in collaboration with leading educational institutions in Spain.
Furthermore, at the end of the meeting, on behalf of the Thai Ambassador to Spain, Thailand´s Chargé d´affaires received the ACM Chairmanship from Ambassador of the Philippines in the handover ceremony. Thailand will chair the ACM during 1 September – 31 December 2021.
