Casa Asia organized an online seminar, titled “Tras las huellas del elefante blanco - 150 años de relaciones históricas entre Tailandia y España”

On 19 October 2020, Casa Asia (Spanish public diplomacy entity, founded to promote relations, especially in the field of culture, between Spain and Asia) organized an online seminar, titled “Tras las huellas del elefante blanco - 150 años de relaciones históricas entre Tailandia y España” (Beyond the footprints of the white elephants – 150 year of historic relations between Thailand and Spain).

At the seminar, Mr. Florentino Rodao, Spanish historian and academic with expertise in Asia, and Mr. Piemsak Hongjamrassilp, Lecturer, Faculty of Arts, Thammasat University, shared with participants a summary of the history of Thailand-Spain relations since the 16th century and the vision of Thai society regarding Spain and its people, respectively.

The seminar, in which 70 persons participated, is one of the activities organized by Casa Asia, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Bangkok and the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Thailand-Spain diplomatic relations.

On 23 October 2020 at 12.00 hrs. (Spain´s local time) or 17.00 hrs. (Thailand´s local time), Casa Asia will organize another online seminar on “Un nuevo impulso para las relaciones bilaterales entre España y Tailandia” (A new drive for the bilateral relations between Spain and Thailand).
