On 1 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, in collaboration with the Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales (CEOE), organized a business seminar "Thailand's Business and Investment Opportunities". The event aimed to promote the Thai government's policies to enhance the Thai economy and promote trade and investment between Thailand and Spain, while attracting the Spanish private sector's interest in investing in Thailand through targeted areas and infrastructure projects, such as the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and the Land Bridge project. The event was participated by representatives from more than 30 Spanish private companies.
H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, presided over the opening ceremony alongside Ms. Marta Blanco, President of CEOE for International Affairs. The Embassy invited esteemed speakers from Thailand, including:
1. Mr. Punya Chupanit, Director-General, Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning, Ministry of Transportation
2. Ms. Nuntanart Krisnachinda, Director, Thailand Board of Investment European Office
3. Mr. Nussati Khaneekul, Director Investment Strategy Division, Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EEC)
4. Ms. Patcharamon Trakultivakorn, Director of Commercial Affairs in Madrid
The seminar was successful in promoting Thailand's economic aspects while also building confidence among the Spanish private sector. Each guest speaker held positions from their respective agencies and provided in-depth information on related policies, investment opportunities and privileges. They highlighted key projects, target industries, and areas in which Thailand has potential and are interested in cooperating with Spain.
Subsequently, on 2 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy organized for the Thai delegation a study visit to two Spanish private sector companies, including Talgo, a major manufacturer of high-speed train carriages in Spain and a world leader in train carriage production technology, and INECO, a state enterprise directly under the Spanish Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, providing engineering services and management of transportation systems and infrastructure. The study visit represented a great opportunity to exchange expertise, strengthen business relationships, and establish a strong connection between the Thai government and the Spanish private sector to explore future potential business projects in areas where both parties have the capacity and are mutually interested.
