On 10 July 2018, ASEAN Ambassadors in Madrid participated in the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM)’s monthly meeting at the Thai Residence.

The meeting was started by the turnover of the ACM’s Chairmanship from H.E. Mr. Philippe Lhuillier, Ambassador of the Philippines to Spain, to H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain.  The Thai Ambassador highlighted the ACM’s efforts, since its establishment on 18 December 2014 in promoting the visibility of ASEAN in Spain which has brought about the Strategic Vision of Spain in Asia, a guideline of Spanish foreign policy in strengthening relations with Asian countries, prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, and the establishment of Spain-ASEAN Business Association by Spanish private sectors. The Thai Ambassador also requested support from colleagues to further enhance the cooperation between ASEAN and Spain in all aspects.  The meeting concluded that ACM will continue to organize activities to create awareness of ASEAN in Spain during Thailand’s Chairmanship; such as, ASEAN Day  (8 August 2018), Business Seminar in Valencia and ASEAN Bazaar (September), etc.

After the meeting, Ambassador of Thailand hosted a Thai food luncheon to all participants at the Thai Residence.
