The ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) organized a Seminar on “Business Potentials of the ASEAN Connectivity”  in Barcelona.

 

On 26 October 2016, the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) in collaboration with Casa Asia organized a Seminar on “Business Potentials of the ASEAN Connectivity” at the Headquarters of Casa Asia in Barcelona. Around 60 representatives from public and leading private sectors of Spain participated in this event. On this occasion, H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya  gave a presentation on "infrastructure development in Thailand to promote ASEAN connectivity", focusing on Thailand's key policies and projects which include transportation development strategies (2015-2022), the establishment of  Special Economic Zones along its border with Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia and the promotion of regional supply chain and production base through special economic zones (SEZ) and clusters development and Seven-Year Investment Promotion Strategy (2015 - 2021) as well as the development of Dawei Special Economic Zone in Myanmar.

 

After the seminar, the participants got together with the speakers during the reception in which food and drinks as well as desserts provided by ACM were served. They also enjoyed fried fish cakes and Thai fried noodle from a Thai restaurant in Barcelona and Thai coconut juice from the Co-co Wilson provided by the Royal Thai Embassy.          It was an opportunity to promote Thai food and Thai products as well.

During the reception, bank representatives and travel agents expressed their interest  in organizing activities to promote cooperation in trade and tourism with Thailand. The Royal Thai Embassy will closely coordinate with them to organize the said activities in the near future.
