On 13 September 2016, H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, paid an official visit to Granada to promote cooperation on trade and investment as well as education and people-to people contacts between Thailand and city of Granada. The Ambassador had fruitful meetings with Mr. Gerardo Cuerva, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Granada, H.E. Mr. Francisco Cuenca, Mayor of Granada and  Mrs. Maria del Pilar Aranda Ramirez, Rector of the University of Granada.
