Chargé d’affaires (a.i.) of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid gave an interview for television “La Sexta” regarding the situation of the outbreak of the coronavirus in Thailand and its effects on the country’s tourism. The Chargé d’affaires reassured the Spanish tourists that the Thai government has monitoring the situation closely and all necessary measures i.e.  the health screening at international airports, piers and borders have been applied in line with international standards.  Though there are reports of increasing number of patients in Thailand, the Thai government is in full control of the situation. Additionally, Thailand is also working closely with WHO as well as the international community in order to contain the spread of the virus.The tourists who are in Thailand can have the updated information of the situation on the website of Ministry of Public Health at www.moph.go.th and a hotline service 1422 is to provide help for those who have or may have signs of the symptoms.
