On 2 May 2019, H.E. Mr. Krerkpan Roekchamnong, Thai Ambassador to Spain, visited San Sebastian and attended the opening ceremony of the 5th UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism, together with Ms. Rung Kanjanaviroj, Director of TAT, Rome Office.

The 5th UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism, organized by UNWTO in collaboration with Basque Culinary Center, was the venue for 700 participants from 85 countries over the world to share experience and best practices for the development of gastronomy tourism.

In 2018, Thailand successfully hosted the 4^th UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism in Bangkok.
