On 26 February 2019, Ms. Natenapa Kongsri, Chargé d’affaires, a.i. and Captain Boriboon Emtip, Naval Attache, Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid had a meeting with representatives of the Board of Directives of the Spain-ASEAN Business Association, namely, Mr. Tomas Gonzalez, President, Mr. Eliseo Almela Barbarroja, Vice President and Mr. Javier Valero Marin, Treasurer. The Association, established at the initiative of Spanish private sector who is aware of business potential of ASEAN Community, was officially launched in November last year. The main objective of the Association is to further promote economic relations between Spain and ASEAN countries including Thailand.

Both sides had a fruitful discussion about activities to be carried out in 2019. Among them are a visit of Spanish private sector to Thailand as well as a business seminar organized by the Association in Bangkok. The Embassy, on their side, will organize a seminar on the business opportunity in Thailand, especially in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in June this year and another business forum when the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand come to Madrid to attend the ASEM FMM at the end of 2019.
