On 7 June 2022, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, together with the Ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN Embassies in Spain, members of the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM), namely, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, participated in a seminar titled “Doing Business in Southeast Asia: Outlook and Opportunities” jointly organized by the ACM, Spain – ASEAN Business Association, and Chamber of Commerce of Valladolid. The seminar was aimed at promoting business and investment opportunities in Thailand and ASEAN countries among private sector in the city of Valladolid, Spain.

     On this occasion, the Thai Ambassador shared with the public information about Thailand’s economic and geopolitical strengths as it is located at the heart of ASEAN. Additionally, the Ambassador stressed on Thailand´s major economic policies and the latest development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), whose benefits could be enjoyed by Spanish companies doing business in Thailand and the region of ASEAN.

     Additionally, the ACM met with Mr. Victor A. Caramanzana Rey, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Valladolid, whereby both sides exchanged information on business and investment opportunities in ASEAN.

     After the seminar, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Valladolid hosted a luncheon in honour of the ACM, in which local dignitaries, for example, Mr. Conrado Iscar, President of the Valladolid Provincial Council and Mr. Augusto Cobos, Director General of Institute for Business Competitivity (ICE) – Government of Castile y Leon, also participated.
