On 13 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, attended and presided over the opening ceremony of the "Muaythai Masterclass 2025", organized by the Commitee of Boxing Sport Board of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), led by Mr. Chalitrat Chantrubeksa, Deputy Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, and an eminent member of the SAT Boxing Commission, at the Polideportivo Ciudad Jardin Sports Center in Malaga, Spain. More than 300 participants participated in the event.
The Muaythai Masterclass 2025 event in Malaga included a variety of activities, including demonstration of the Wai Khru Muay Thai ceremony, Muay Thai training by legendary champions: (1) Saenchai P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym, (2) Petchpanomrung Kiatmoo 9, and (3) Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn. This was followed by a performance of the traditional art of "Muay Thai Boran." Furthermore, there was also presentation of Standard Muaythai Gym (SMG) certificates to 10 boxing camps in Spain, certifying that the aforementioned Muay Thai schools/gyms meet the standards of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).
On this occasion, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of Muay Thai as a cultural identity and reiterated the Embassy's readiness to support Muay Thai activities to increase awareness among foreigners, especially Spanish people, the art of Muay Thai. The event today reflected the popularity of Muay Thai among Spanish people, attracting both children and adults, as well as women. He also emphasized that Muay Thai is not only a traditional martial art, but also a form of exercise and a way to instill discipline in practitioners.
