On 21 May 2021, Mr. Wolfgang Kiessling, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand to the Canary Islands and spouse, along with Mr. Cristoph Kiessline, Vice Consul-General, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Madrid, at the Thai ambassador's residence. Both sides discussed and exchanged ideas on the support and assistance rendered to the Thai community in the Canary Islands, which comprise of approximate 150 citizens, as well as plans to organize activities to promote the trade and investment, as well as the awareness of Thailand in the Canary Islands.

Her Excellency the Ambassador of Thailand expressed her appreciation to Mr. Kiessling for his dedication to the duty of the Honorary Consul-General as well as his cooperation with the embassy over the past 26 years since being appointed to the position. In the same occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador of Thailand also hosted lunch in honour of Mr. Kiessling and family.
