Information for travellers from Spain to Thailand (Updated as of 10 January 2022)

📢 Announcement:

🔺 New measures apply for all applicants on Thailand Pass, as follows; 🔺

1️⃣ Applicants who have received their Thailand Pass QR Code can enter Thailand under the scheme they have registered.

2️⃣ Applicants who have registered, but have not received their QR Code must wait for their Thailand Pass to be considered / approved. Once approved, they can enter Thailand under the scheme they have registered.

3️⃣ New applicants will not be able to register for Test and Go. Thailand Pass will only accept new applicants seeking to enter Thailand under Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or Sandbox only.

From 1 November 2021, those who will travel to Thailand must register for a Thailand Pass QR Code at https://tp.consular.go.th. Travellers are required to present the QR Code to airlines at the check-in counter and to immigration officers. Please register at least 7 days before travelling.

Travelling from Spain to Sandbox Program 

 

Requirements: 

- must have been fully-vaccinated no less than 14 days before departure; (If you are NOT fully vaccinated, please see information at the bottom of this page.)
- must take an RT-PCR test upon arrival. If the test result is negative, travellers may travel within the Sandbox areas, and must return to stay at the hotel. They are not allowed to stay over-night at other locations within the first 7 days. Travellers may not travel to other parts of Thailand during the first 7 days, but may depart from Thailand to other countries if the lenght of stay in Sandbox areas is shorter than 7 days.

- ***IMPORTANT Both Thai and Non-Thai travellers must have a medical certificate with a laboratory result of an RT-PCR test indicating that COVID - 19 is not detected of no more than 72 hours before departure
        Travellers, who contracted COVID-19 no less than 14 days and no more than 3 months before travelling, with positive result of the RT-PCR test may present a recovery certificate or a medical certificate indicating that they are asymptomatic.***

Exception: Trallevers, under 6 years of age and accompanied by parents, are not required to obtain a COVID-19 test result before departure.

Required documents for Sandbox Program registration at https://tp.consular.go.th

1. A valid passport (visa / travel documents / or visa exemption depending on nationalities)

2. Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi - Itinerary of flights from Spain to Phuket International Airport (Travellers may transit at an airport outside Thailand before arriving at Phuket airport, with transit time no more than 12 hours and not leaving the transit area.) Domestic transit from other airports in Thailand to Phuket is not allowed.

If you wish to fly to Samui, make sure that the flights from Spain all the way to Samui Airport (USM) are in the same booking, with transit at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK). The flight from BKK to USM must start with PG5xxx. Other flights from BKK without PG5xxx are not allowed. 

3. An official, fully-paid hotel reservation confirmation for at least 7 days after arriving in Thailand. The hotel must have obtained SHA Extra+ or AQ standard. Hotel list can be found at https://www.agoda.com/quarantineth /  https://www.shathailand.com. The accommodation can also be reserved directly with the hotel.

Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi - Travellers must make a payment for a COVID-19 RT-PCR test at https://www.thailandpsas.com/ (not included in hotel reservation) and upload the receipt to Thailand Pass registration system together with the hotel reservation. 

Samui - Please make sure that 2 RT-PCR tests are included in the hotel reservation confirmation.

4. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

(1) Travellers, at 18 years of age and over, are required to obtain proofs indicating that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before departure.
(2) Travellers, at 12 years to under 18 years of age, are required to obtain proofs indicating that they have been vaccinated with at least 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine no less than 14 days before departure. (This group of travellers are not required to obtain a proof of COVID-19 vaccination, if travelling with parents.)
(3) Travellers, under 12 years of age and travelling with parents, are not required to obtain a proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
(4) Travellers, who recovered from COVID-19, must obtain proofs of at least 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine no less than 14 days before departure, and a medical certificate indicating that they have contracted and recovered from COVID-19.

Attach both vaccination certificates/documents issued after receiving each dose.


Types of vaccine that are accepted include:

(1) CoronaVac by Sinovac (2 doses needed)
(2) AstraZeneca by AstraZeneca & Oxford University / SK BIOSCIENCE (Korea) / Siam Bioscience / Serum Institute of India (2 doses needed)
(3) Pfizer-BioNTECH COVID-19 vaccine / Comirnaty by Pfizer-BioNTECH (2 doses needed)
(4) Janssen by Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. (1 dose needed)
(5) Moderna by Moderna Inc. (2 doses needed)
(6) Sinopharm Vaccine / COVILO by Sinopharm Co., Ltd. (2 doses needed)
(7) SputnikV (Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology) (2 doses needed)

(8) Covaxin (Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL))

 

5. (For non-Thais only) a medical insurance policy (in English language) which expressly covers treatment and medical expenses, with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD. The insurance must cover the total duration of stay in Thailand. (Travellers may obtain an insurance policy from foreign insurance companies or consider buying an insurance at https://covid19.tgia.org.)

Thai nationals, entitled to government health coverage, are not required to obtain an insurance policy.

Fully-vaccinated travellers can also choose 7-day quarantine

Travelling from Spain to Thailand with Alternative Quarantine (AQ)

- Non-fully vaccinated travellers must choose 10-day quarantine

- Fully-vaccinated travellers can choose 7-day quarantine

***IMPORTANT Travellers must have a medical certificate with a laboratory result of an RT-PCR test indicating that COVID - 19 is not detected of no more than 72 hours before departure.
      Travellers, who contracted COVID-19 no less than 14 days and no more than 3 months before travelling, with positive result of the RT-PCR test may present a recovery certificate or a medical certificate indicating that they are asymptomatic.

Exception:

Thais are not required to obtain a COVID-19 test result before departure (for Alternative Quarantine).

Trallevers, under 6 years of age and accompanied by parents, are not required to obtain a COVID-19 test result before departure.

However, it is recommended that travellers check airlines’ requirements and health measures before travelling.

 1. A valid passport (visa / travel documents / or visa exemption depending on nationalities)

 2. Itineary of flights from Spain to Thailand. (Travellers can transit at an airport outside Thailand before arriving at an international airport in Thailand, with transit time no more than 12 hours and not leaving the transit area.)

Currently, international direct flights to Bangkok and Phuket are available. Domestic transit in Thailand to other provinces is not allowed. 

3. An official, fully-paid hotel reservation confirmation. The information on the confirmation letter must include an airport pick-up, three meals per day, and COVID-19 tests. The hotel must meet AQ standard and can be found at https://www.agoda.com/quarantineth / https://www.shathailand.com. The accommodation can also be reserved directly with the hotel.

- Non-fully vaccinated travellers must choose 10-day quarantine at the hotel

- Fully-vaccinated travellers can choose 7-day quarantine at the hotel

 4. (Non-Thai travellers only) Medical insurance policy (in English language) which expressly covers treatment and medical expenses, with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD. The insurance must cover the total duration of stay in Thailand.
