On 21 April 2021, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Magdy Martínez-Solimán, Director of Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) upon her assumption of duty. Ms. Julia Fuentes Durendez, Advisor, Director´s Office, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Minister and Ms. Prapasri Chetsonkcul, Counsellor, were also present at the meeting.

In this occasion, both sides exchanged information on Thailand and Spain´s model and policy on international development cooperation. Possibility to promote bilateral and trilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including sustainable development, health, renewable energy and green economy, was discussed. Moreover, both sides agreed to further enhance cooperation to promote Spanish language teaching in universities and schools in Thailand.
