On 13–15 February 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, led by Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d'affaires a.i., and the Embassy's delegation, undertook an official visit to Barcelona. Details as follows:
1) On 13 February 2026, the Embassy delegation met with Mr. Manuel Matchana Aramburu, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Barcelona, Mrs. Duangruethai Reokarn, President of Thai Friends Samakkhi Association, and Mr. Juan Serrano, President of La Comunidad Budista Bosque Theravada, to discuss the preparation of the Thai Festival in Barcelona.
On this occasion, the CDA also handed over a financial contribution to La Comunidad Budista Bosque Theravada in support of their activities.
2) On the same day, the CDA also had a meeting with Mr. Jose Pintor Aguilar, Director-General of Casa Asia, to discuss official matters concerning planned joint projects and activities in the future, including the 4th Thai-Spain Forum in Barcelona, the project to hand over the World Tipitaka to the University of Salamanca, as well as seeking advice and recommendations on organizing the Thai Festival in Barcelona.
3) On 14 February 2026, the Embassy provided mobile consular services in Barcelona, allowing Thai nationals to apply for Thai passports at Hotel America Barcelona. A total of 10 people received services. On the following day, the Embassy also visited a Thai national serving a sentence at Centre Penitenciari Brians 1.
