On 9-11 March 2023, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, along with Captain Chonlapoo Choosri, Naval and Defence Attaché, and officials/staffs from the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, traveled to Mallorca, Balearic Islands, to assess its economic potential and explore ways to strengthen cooperation with Thailand in various areas.

In this light, the Ambassador led the delegation to a meeting with Mr. Jaime Martínez Llabrés, Mayor of Palma de Mallorca of the Balearic Islands, to build closer ties between each other. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in key potential areas, notably in trade, sustainable tourism and culture, where Thai food has been gaining popularity among Spanish and foreign tourists who travel to Mallorca.

In the same period, the Embassy also organized a mobile consular service at Hotel Palladium, consisting of passport applications, legalization and also providing helpful information for Thais living in Spain. The Embassy delegation also visited a Thai restaurant to boost morale, to learn of the wellbeing of Thais, and also matters that the Embassy can support.
