On 28 May 2021, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, met with Mr. Jose Vicente Morata, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia, upon her assumption of duty. Mr. Vicente Mompo, Foreign Trade Coordinator, Mr. Enrique Garcia, Executive of Pilarica, a Spanish company, Ms. Prapasri Chetsonkcul, Counsellor, and Ms. Maneerat Marnpae, Staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid´s Business Information Center, participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the deepening of economic cooperation between Thailand and Valencia´s private sector. As Valencia is an important gateway for Thai products; 17.67% of total Thai products imported to Spain access the Spanish market through this port, the opportunity to expand the market size of Thai products in Valencia was discussed. Moreover, both sides agreed on further promoting cooperation in the fields of transportation, renewable energy and agrobusiness, among others. The Ambassador also invited the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia to participate in economic activities that the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand in Madrid plan to organize in 2021 to further enhance trade and investment relations between the two countries, including business seminar and online business matching, etc.
