On 17 February 2022, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, hosted a reception, in which executives of 15 leading Spanish companies and Thai investors in Spain were invited to attend. The reception offered an opportunity for networking and strengthening ties between the Embassy and the private sectors.

     In her welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Thailand invited the Spanish private sectors to expand their trade and investment relations with Thailand, taking advantage of the country´s location at the heart and as logistics hub of ASEAN as well as the Free Trade Agreement Networks that Thailand has with many countries. The Thai Ambassador also reiterated the readiness of the Embassy in facilitating and supporting Thailand-Spain bilateral economic activities.

     At the reception, H.E. Mr. Emilio de Miguel Calabia, Ambassador in Special Mission for Indo-Pacific, Director of Casa Asia in Madrid and former Ambassador of Spain to Thailand also shared with the guests his recommendations for the further strengthening of Thailand-Spain economic relations. Additionally, Ms. Vichada Pabunjertkit, Minister Counsellor (Commercial) and Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in Madrid gave an overview of Thailand-Spain trade relations as well as the outlook of the Thai economy in 2022.
