On 30 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, paid a courtesy call on with Mr. Luis Fonseca Sanchez, Director-General for North America, Eastern Europe, and Asia-Pacific, to bid farewell upon finalising his diplomatic mission.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Spanish government and people for their support and cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai community in Spain during his 2 years and 5 months in office.

Both sides discussed current relations and future cooperation, including the Political Consultation meeting to be hosted by Spain next year. They agreed that Thailand and Spain still have great potential for trade and investment. The Ambassador encouraged more Spanish investment in diverse industries in Thailand. He also noted that, with growing interest in learning Spanish language in Thailand, promoting Thai students to study Spanish with native Spanish teachers under the Memorandum of Understanding on education cooperation, signed in April 2025, would help bring the two countries closer together.

In the meantime, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Minister-Counsellor, will act as Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. until the new Ambassador arrives.
