On 8 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain attended the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) meeting and handed over the ACM Chairmanship to H.E. Mr. Thang Song Doan, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Spain, who will be the ACM Chair from July - December 2024.

In this regard, ACM organized an ASEAN flag hoisting event on the occasion of ASEAN Day to commemorate 57 years of the establishment of ASEAN. The ACM also discussed and exchanged views on the political and economic situation of Spain and ASEAN as well as deliberated on the plan of ACM activities in 2024 to promote ASEAN and Spain relations in all dimensions.
