On 6 February 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid hosted the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) 1/2024 Meeting at the Thai Ambassador's Residence. Before the Meeting, an ACM Chairmanship handover ceremony was organised where H.E. Mr.  Philippe J. Lhuillier, Ambassador of the Philippines, handed over the Chairmanship of the ACM to H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain. Thailand will assume the Chair of ACM during the first 6 months of 2024.

Afterward, the Meeting discussed important developments in ASEAN and Spain, as well as planned activities to raise awareness of ASEAN with related sectors of Spain in 2024.
