On 26 May 2021, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Vicent Grimalt Boronat, Mayor of Denia, upon her assumption of duty. Members of Team Thailand in Madrid as well as executives of the city of Denia participated in the meeting.

In this occasion, both sides expressed intention to work together to promote relations, particularly in the field of tourism which is an important economic sector of Denia. Moreover, the Thai Ambassador sought assistance from the Mayor of Denia in taking care of the Thai community, which consists of 20 members approximately. She also reiterated the Embassy’s role in empowering the Thai community in Spain so that Thai people can live happily and be able to contribute to their local community.

During the visit to Denia, the Thai Ambassador and the delegation of Team Thailand in Madrid had a lunch meeting with the Thai community in the town. It was the opportunity for the Ambassador to introduce herself and learn of the community´s living conditions.
