On 9 November 2025, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, led officials of the Embassy, Team Thailand members, and their families to attend the first anniversary celebration of Paññagiri Monastery in Aiguafreda, Catalonia — a Theravada Buddhist temple that follows the forest monastery tradition of Phra Bodhinyanathera (Ajahn Chah) and Phra Brahmavachirayan (Ajahn Sumedho).

The event was attended by a large number of members of the Thai community in Spain and those interested in Buddhist teachings. Phra Ajahn Nyanadasano led the participants in a moment of peaceful reflection in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, followed by a Dhamma talk on “Living with stability amidst changes.” The participants then made alms offering, offered lunch to the monks and anakarikas, then shared a meal together in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
