On 26 September 2019, ASEAN Committee in Madrid organised a press conference at the Indonesian Embassy to promote ASEAN Film Festival Madrid 2019.

It is the first ASEAN film festival in the Spanish capital city whereby 10 Southeast Asian films will be screened during 2-6 October 2019 at Circulo Bellas Artes in Madrid.

Two Thai movies, namely, Brother of the Year (Nong, Pee, Teerak) and Bad Genius (Chalard Games Gong), will be screened at the Festival.
