On 3 November 2020, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Chargé d´affaires, a.i., Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid participated in an online seminar titling The positioning of Spain in Southeast Asia : Challenges and Opportunities, organized by Spain-ASEAN Business Association (ASEMPEA).

H.E. Mr. Luis Oscar Moreno, Director General of Economic Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, was the invited speaker. He shared with the participants from private and public sectors the Spanish perspectives on the ASEAN region. According to Mr. Moreno, in the post COVID-19 era, Spanish private sector would be more interested in doing business with ASEAN countries as the region has suffered less from the COVID-19 and its economy has been expected to recover faster in comparison to other parts of the world.
