On 23 October 2020, Casa Asia (Spanish public diplomacy entity, founded to promote relations, especially in the field of culture, between Spain and Asia) organized an online seminar, titled ”Un nuevo impulso para las relaciones bilaterales entre España y Tailandia” (A new drive for the bilateral relations between Spain and Thailand).

At the seminar, moderated by Mr.  Ricardo Losa, Deputy Director General for North America, Eastern Europe, Asia and Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, H.E. Mr. Emilio de Miguel Calabia, Ambassador of Spain to Thailand, and Mr. Mario Esteban, Academic and Specialist in Asia, Elcano Royal Institute (a Spanish think tank for international and strategic studies) discussed on the current context of Thailand-Spain relations as well as how to further strengthen them in the political, economic, social and cultural aspects, both at bilateral and multilateral levels. The seminar was one of the activities, organized to celebrate the 150 years of anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between Thailand and Spain.
