On 26 October 2021, ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) handed over “ASEAN Corner”, containing books and artworks of ASEAN and its members,  to the IE University’s library. At the ASEAN Corner Launching Ceremony, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, in capacity of the ACM’s Chair, gave a remark and, on behalf of the ACM, handed over the Corner to   Mr. Geoffroy Gerard, Director General of IE Foundation and Mr. Angel Alonso Arroba, Vice Dean of IE School of Global & Public Affairs, representatives of the University. Ambassadors, Chargé d’affaires and representatives of the ASEAN Embassies in Spain as well as the IE University’s students participated in the ceremony.

     The ASEAN Corner at the IE University is the first ASEAN Corner in Spain. To materialize this project, ASEAN Embassies in Spain (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam) joined hands to donate books and artworks related to ASEAN and its member countries to the University. The ASEAN Corner will be the source of information on ASEAN for the University’s students. It will also be a tool in creating awareness of ASEAN as well as further promoting ASEAN-Spain people-to-people relations.
