On 6 July 2021, H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassdor of Thailand to Spain, paid a courtesy call on Ms. Teresa Ribera Rodriguez, 4th Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of the Kingdom of Spain, upon her assumption of duty. Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Minister, Ms. Prapasri Chetsonkcul, Counsellor and Mr. Borja Sastre Mata, Advisor to the Office of the 4th Vice Prime Minister were also present.

At the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the further strengthening of cooperation between Thailand and Spain in various fields of mutual interest, including renewable energy, water management, sustainable development, circular economy and ocean conservation, among others.

The Thai Ambassador also took this opportunity to invite a representative of the Ministry to attend a seminar, titled “Thailand-Spain Partnership towards Green Energy”, to be organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, on 13 July 2021, whose objective is to further promote investment as well as research and development cooperation between Thailand and Spain in renewable energy sector.
